Pre-Trip Objectives:
- Able to interact and learn more about different industries via industry practitioners and the company visits and also understand how China, the fast-paced nation works in a big picture.
- Compare and highlight the differences of business environment, management & financing strategies of Singapore's companies and China's companies.
- Notice and appreciate similarities and differences of China's companies & Singapore's companies in respect to international trade, risk management which includes cash flow risk, foreign exchange risk, loss of good risk etc.
- Understand how the big international market works and how the companies hedge foreign exchange risks.
- See, understand and most importantly, appreciate how the Singapore's companies cope and compete with China's companies.
Pre-Trip Expectations:
- Learn more about China's history while visiting cultural sites like Great Wall of China, Forbidden City, Nan Shi Shi Ping Jie (Tianjin Food Street), Tia Nan Mei Square, Bird Nest & National Aquatic Centre.
- Have a deeper understanding, interaction & sight of manufacturing process with the companies we will be visiting like Yakult, China, Hyundai, Beijing, China Mengniu Dairy Company Limited etc as we would not be able to do so without the arrangement of the school through the study trip.
- Deeper view and understanding of the university environment and learning environment of Tianjin University (

- Company visit with PWC, Price WaterHouse Coopers, Beijing, Accounting and Consultancy Company & Ping An Investment Company will better relate Accountancy & Banking students to what they may be doing in future and how a related company works in China.
